Tiger Woods is Back!!

The wait is finally over for golf fans, Tiger Woods is back in action this week and is playing in the Father Son tournament with his son Charlie. I’m thrilled personally because I really believed with conviction that Tiger Woods would never play golf again. Over the past month or so tons of stories came to the surface regarding his leg and the accident. Between Tiger almost dying and having his leg amputated there were a lot of emotions going on throughout the golf world. What was interesting was throughout all the interviews Tiger wasn’t concerned about golf which is a total change from the old Tiger we were used to, he was more concerned with his family and how it would affect their lives. Thankfully Tiger is healthy and back to playing golf in a normal capacity.

Going forward Tiger will be competing in PGA Tour events however his schedule will be small and precise. Keeping in mind this is all speculation but we should expect to see Tiger in every major and 4-5 other events throughout the year. With his body being as injured and warned down as it is he can’t play week in and week out. It will probably work out to be once a month Tiger will play in an event, this way he’s able to prepare for the event and give his body the ample time it needs to recover.

With all that being said the next question we have to ask ourselves is will Tiger Woods ever win again? Personally, no I think Tiger will get very close to winning but between lack of body mobility and overall pain i just don’t think he has in the tank. Coupled with the fact that the players on tour right now are some of the best they have ever been in a long time. Any given week there are 125 guys that can go out and win. I would love to be proven wrong and see Tiger win again but I firmly believe he just doesn’t have it. With all that being said, win or lose Tiger changed the game of golf for the better and without him the sport we know today wouldn’t be here. Tiger is the needle and golf will always need him. (Mike)

Unlike Mike, I believe Tiger Woods will win again someday. Too many times I think people have wrote him off and he has proven this all wrong so I don’t think it’s realistic to think he will win a handful of times again, but to think he could put it together for four days and win the tournaments in the next five or 10 years is certainly realistic to me. He has proven that when he wants something on the golf course bad enough he often gets it. He may never win again and that’s OK because I thought he would never play golf again, at least competitively. Seeing him out there playing is a good enough treat for all of us golf fans and we should be grateful every time we get to see Tiger tea it up.

Another great thing about this weekend is how families are playing against one another for the most part. Whether it be father/son or father/daughter or grandpa/grandson it really is such a treat to watch. Family and golf often do not go together since golf is such an individual sport, but as most people can attest, time spent watching golf or playing golf with family can be some of the most special moments we have. It is a unique format that is quite fun to watch and everybody that participates always says how much fun they have every year. Should be some great viewing this weekend.

Although there will be a lot of talk on Tiger Woods this week and rightfully so, the Daly duo deserves some recognition here. They have a lot of character, they’re fun to watch and they both can hit it a mile. There are many great pairings this week, but behind the Woods group think the Daly duo will give us a very entertaining couple days down in Orlando. (Tyler)
